Dear Friends & Supporters,

As the new school year approaches we’re eagerly preparing for another exciting National Campus Safety Awareness Month (NCSAM) in September! Each year since 2005 SOC has partnered with hundreds of college and universities to offer this life-saving campus safety education program at the beginning of the new school year.

We’re also working diligently to get Congressional recognition for this partnership, and need your help to get a resolution supporting NCSAM passed. Congressman Joe Sestak, who represents the district in Pennsylvania where our offices are located, has introduced H. Res. 1288 “supporting the goals and ideals of” NCSAM. Now we need 100 co-sponsors by the end of July to make sure it gets taken up and passed by the full U.S. House of Representatives in time for September.

Please call or write your member of Congress today and ask them to co-sponsor House Resolution 1288 (please make sure to use the term “resolution”). We’ve included sample calls and letters for your reference as links to the left of this letter. We recommend calls and or faxes because postal mail is delayed for security screening and e-mails may be lost or ignored due to the volume received.
