Information For Prospective College Students & Their Parents

Residence HallWalk into any bedding or bath store this August and you will notice a common theme: Soon-to-be college students shopping for comforters and other dorm items with their parents.  Whether you are a student preparing to leave for college or the parent or guardian of a future college student, it is an exciting time.  With so much anticipation, it can be easy to forget about some serious issues.

Campus life brings a sense of independence for most students.  This includes class schedules, social events, dorm life, organizations, and jobs.  Amidst so many changes, students and their parents sometimes forget about personal safety.  College campuses may appear protected because, as a student, you are surrounded by your peers and relatively insulated from the surrounding community.  It is important to remain aware of your surroundings.

In the 22 years since Security On Campus, Inc. was founded, we have mostly heard from students or their parents after they have become victims of crime.  Along with assisting these victims, we also aim to raise awareness about crime on campus, providing students and their parents with essential information about crime response and prevention.
